The Animated Series' Showrunner Has Seen Fans' Second Season Bingo Cards — With Some Positive Updates

The highly-awaited second season of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel launches on Prime Video soon, and audience theories has been rampant.

The first season introduces a diverse group of personalities residing in the afterlife, pits them against each other accompanied by musical numbers about their clashes, and establishes tense rivalries and emotional bonds that fuel audience devotion.

The community's expectations for the new season differ greatly, but certain threads emerge over and over: Will a fan-favorite character break free from Valentino? Will we find out more about the binding agreement affecting the enigmatic Alastor? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Naturally, I don't produce the show with fan service specifically in mind," the creator stated earlier this year. "But I believe that me being a fan of my own show means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also am eager for these things, and I hope some of these things to happen, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator says her long-term vision is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have already been green-lit by Prime Video and A24, which finance the series.

That might mean fans have to be patient for some of the major resolutions — but they may be surprised at how fast the new season progresses, and how many of what they're waiting for happens now.

"I feel like people are going to get a lot out of it," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we receive some incredible reveals, some really cool origin tales, and even just simple things, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear additional musical numbers from the previously silent cast members."

She's certainly aware of the theories and desires about season 2 — especially in the form of audience prediction charts.

"I've come across a few fans make a prediction grid about the new season," she says. "Obviously I won't share it, but I've already completed a few items, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 launches on Prime Video on Oct. 29.
